The Sky’s the Limit project, a partnership between The Old Vic Theatre, 3i and schools in south and east London, took place between May and July 2007 and was designed to raise aspirations of primary schools students through participation in workshops to build their confidence and teamwork skills, facilitated by professional drama educators from The Old Vic Theatre. The drama educators worked very closely with all participating schools, tailoring the approach to some of the work to address specific needs identified by teachers; for example developing focus and concentration, or encouraging communication between genders. From the workshops a new piece of theatre was created, drawing directly on the suggestions of the workshop participants, for performance by professional actors at The Old Vic to an audience of 1,000 primary school students.
